Ipsy Glam Bag Review – August 2015

Hi everyone! ๐Ÿ˜€

I got my August Glam Bag in recently and after trying everything out, I think this maybe my favorite shipment yet!

Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics Eye Shadow Primer

I have so many shadow primers piling up at home now, oh my goodness! You already know I am not big on eyeshadow, so I have no need for a primer, my sister will be keeping this one. ๐Ÿ™‚ I tried a small bit, and I think she’ll love it compared to her go to Too Faced primer.
Pros: Goes on smooth as silk and matte. It retails for $5.99 unlike my sister’s Too Faced primer at $20! The eyeshadow color is buildable on the primer and lasts.
Cons: The eyeshadow becomes a tad hard to wash off, and the size of the product is a bit small. However, a small amount with this product goes a long way!
Score: 4.8 out of 5

Doucce Ultra Precision Eye Liner in Black

First Impression: The liner is like any other pencil liner. It comes in solid black and needs to be sharpened to maintain its tip.
Pros: Portable, small, and smudge proof. Glides on smooth and soft.
Cons: I haven’t seen any problems with the product.
Score: 5 out of 5

Marc Anthony Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco Oil Treatment

First Impression: Yay! Anything with argan oil is good! The product says only to use 2-3 drops, but looking as how the opening type is usually for lotion container, I think there might be a huge spilling problem in my future.
Pros: The product is great as expected, and can be used on dry or wet hair. My hair ย feels silky and smooth where I applied it.
Cons: The container opener. I really would be more comfortable with a dropper.
Score: 4 out of 5

Hikari Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Merlot

First Impression: I usually never like lip gloss, and usually stick with a matte lip stain marker. I also thought the color would be unflattering on me, and seeing that it has mineral oil in the ingredients, I wasn’t too happy.
Pros: I actually LOVE THE COLOR after trying it on! It’s very flattering on my skin tone, and isn’t at all gloppy, and has a subtle sheen. Very grown up ๐Ÿ˜‰
Cons: The mineral oil
Score: 4 out of 5

Aila Cosmetics Luxury Nail Lacquer in Mister Pookies

First Impression: I am so happy to have another vegan nail polish to my small collection. I really need more ๐Ÿ™‚ Plus the color is CHOCOLATE!
Pros:ย Physician developed,ย 5-free, gluten-free, paraben-free, cruelty-free, vegan, and made in the USA. These are a lot of pluses! The color goes on smooth, and full, no need for more than 2 coats of color. ๐Ÿ™‚ There is the regular nail polish smell, but it is not too heavy in my opinion.
Cons: PRICE! This baby is $17 a pop, but I did get more than my Scotch Naturals bottle at $15
Score: 4 out of 5

I love the color of the nail polish, and it seems that you got a great bag! I’m so excited, as I’m getting my first Ipsy glam bag this month. Here’s to hoping mine will be just as good as yours! Your review was really thorough, as well.

It’d be lovely if you would visit my blog, and follow if interested! https://thesiyuwu.wordpress.com/

This month was my 3rd bag with Ipsy, and if you read my first 2 reviews you’ll find it’s really a hit or miss. I suggest doing the reviews after getting your first bag as they try to curate the items to what you may like. I hope you love the items you get!
