Product Review: Halal Nail Polish by Orly

Hi loves~

Recently I got to try out Orly’s Breathable Treatment nail polish which is certified halal for Muslim women to wear. The Orly team worked with Muslim Girl, a Muslim centric journalism site, to create an entire line of nail polish just for the girls! The nail polish came in my monthly care package and the coral is bit more on the reddish side.

Orly Breathable Treatment + Color                   Such a pretty color!

Pro:  The color lasts a long time and stood up to a week. It also really is a good treatment! It made my nails super strong and healthy and that lasted about 3 weeks after removal of this nail polish.

Con: The color runs on just about anything you touch. I left coral marks on any paper I rubbed my nails on even by accident. However that may be because I did not use a topcoat, but the product said it wasn’t needed. Guess they were wrong on that one!

Score: 4.8 out of 5. It is a great product! It made my nails super healthy with a amazing color, but they need a topcoat sealer for the polish. The color scratched and left residue on paper, and desk surfaces… Although this happened, there were no chips or visible imperfections to my nails color itself. Just, everyone knew what you had your hands on when paperwork had red marks them. 😛

Fashion and Style: Outfit Planning

Hello everyone~

My boss is always mentioning that I should raid her closet and help her coordinate an outfit for work. With several years of fashion retail experience under my belt, I know my way around personal styling a tad. Although my coworker and I have our eyes gleaming at the thought of dressing up our boss together at her house, we know she is just kidding, although that won’t stop me from giving you these tips! 😀

Tip 1:

Always think about what accessories or individual pieces would go with what you already own in your closet. It will keep you mindful of what may or may not go together. For example, owning a skirt you may never wear as no tops you own look good, or go with it, that will lead to the skirt eventually being donated. Don’t waste your money and be mindful! Also, don’t waste money purchasing an entire outfit around 1 item, unless it already has some value to fit with the rest of your wardrobe.

Tip 2:

Run  you ides by a loved one! It’s always best to run anything you want to purchase with a second opinion. Hopefully someone close to you, as they will know your preferences, your style, and whether you already own something, just like the item you interested in, to prevent you from buying it, I’m looking at you sis!😈 You can also ask for stylistic help from the sales personnel,  I know from the company I worked at we had to keep up to date on trends and fashion styles to assist our clients. Depending on which company or brand you go to, the workers should be able to assist you stylistically. 😀

Tip 3:

Outfit planning is a technique I learned at work. What we did is create and coordinate outfits on our mannequins and displays on the sales floor and fitting rooms. It helped inspire customers to purchase items and coordinate similarly to the display or purchase the entire display off the mannequins. What I’m trying to say is, pre-plan your outfits. Try out you outfit idea on a hanger; top with a sweater together on a hanger, with a scarf wrapped around too, maybe hang a necklace above the top on the hanger. If you can see your outfit in front of you, you’ll be able to see what works together to coordinate or mix and match an outfit. I usually pre-plan outfits for an entire week after finishing the laundry. It helps since I’m usually short on time in the mornings before work. If all my outfits are ready, it gives me piece of mind as all i need to do next is make up and jewelry and I’m out the door like lightning.

Good luck and don’t forget to strike a magnificent pose and slay!😘

Shopping for Accessories

He everyone~

At the job I work at, more than just talking about work, a lot of clients have asked me about my jewelry. If it’s real, it’s so sparkly, where do you shop, along with general compliments are all things I’ve been told and asked on. So I thought why not make a post on it?

Nadri

Her jewelry is absolutely gorgeous! They all look high quality and real even though the stones are cubic zirconia! I get majority of my compliments when I wear her pendant necklaces or rings. I was first introduced to her brand when I went to Nordstrom Rack and my sister and I found a bracelet of hers on clearance, which was great because I was shopping for things to wear at a Desi/Indian wedding. Since I’m petite my wrists are very small, and I found her bracelets to fit me perfectly. 😍 Dream come true!

Gorjana

Another great designer. I discovered this brand when I had my eyes glued to a bracelet at TJ Maxx in their display case. My mom was against it because it was a gold plate over brass but I am very self indulgent when it comes to jewelry so I purchased it. It has become my most favorite gold bangle. The brands other designs are great too.

This is another brand I found at Nordstrom Rack. I actually happened to be looking for Nadri’s brand jewelry at the time and stumbled upon this brand while searching. Their rings that I picked out are really blingy and more on the cocktail ring side. Very pretty. 😁

Old Navy

This store has been very good to me when it comes to finding jewelry at a good value for how many sales the store has. They also sell their jewelry online but I highly recommend going to the store as there is always a bigger variety. Also be aware, from my experience the prices range from store to store! I once bought a ring full price only to find it the same day at another location where all those rings were marked clearance. 😢

Aliexpress

My mother is an Aliexpress shopping maverick. She always has shipments of quality looking jewelry coming in from there and boosts how she gets them for like $4! I honestly don’t know how she sifts through all of the sellers because I’ve had bad luck myself. My first ring I purchased gave me green marks, but my mom never has a single issue. She recommends looking at the sellers’ rating! 😉

Banana Republic Factory Outlet

I love shopping at the outlet store here. Not only is their clothing classic and comfy, with great fit for my petite size, the jewelry is beautiful too.

Tree to Tub- Review

Early December last year I got to order the Soapberry products from Tree to Tub’s Black Friday promo sale. I’ve now been using the shampoo and body was since then and I like it though I have a few complaints.

Ipsy Glam Bag Review – October 2015

Hi Lovelies~
I’m really happy with the Glam Bag this month, with all but one product and think 2 items of my bag are a good score! Yay, I’m happy 😛

Beauty Without Cruelty Fragrance Free Hand and Body Lotion

Pro: This lotion moisturizes and softens my skin really well like the product suggests. The texture of the lotion is smooth and creamy, and my skin soaks it right up like a sponge with no residue left. It lasts quite long, and I think I only needed to reapply it a few times when I needed it since I have naturally dry skin. In the product there is shea butter, jojoba, kukui nut oil and aloe vera, which are all ingredients I love! The product is also paraben and cruelty free, as well as 100% vegan/vegetarian, plus the bottle I received is travel sized and fits in my satchel bag nicely. 😀
Con: I see no cons with this product, I just wish I got more. Ha! 😉
Score: 5 out of 5 Continue reading

Ipsy Glam Bag Review- September 2015

Hi everyone~
Sorry I haven’t posted much, I’ve been busy with school. I’m back with Ipsy Glam Bag review, hope you enjoy!

Acure
BrighteningFacial Scrub

Pro: The product is great, it has a natural organic smell, and exfoliates my skin nicely. My skin also doesn’t feel stripped in any way from moisture like the product describes. It is vegan, gluten, paraben, sulfate, silicone, phthalate and synthetic fragrance free, and cruelty free. This is probably my favorite product out of the entire bag, since I’m a big skincare junkie 😉
Con: I did not notice any brightening in my skin, unlike  my Vansanti BrightenUp!
Score: 4 out of 5 Continue reading
